This month, one of the free oils at the 190PV level is a 15ml bottle of Melrose. What is this oil all about? I personally am OBSESSED with this oil and think it doesn't get enough attention or recognition.
First of all, this oil smells GOOD. It smells to me like clean- not like Thieves household cleaner clean- but like hospital clean. Clean clean, ya know? Extra clean,
This oil is super supportive for all things skin. I use this the way Melaleuca/Tea tree oil is used, but I like how supercharged this is with the extra goodies. I also use this often in many of the same ways I would use Lavender. It's a good one to have in the carry-around -just- in -case kit.
It is also very supportive to the immune system. I love to use a few drops of this blend and Lavender in my neti pot year round.
I like to take this in capsules for overall system support and maintaining healthy digestive tract and normal yeast levels. This blend will also help protect against daily exposures to radiation from electronics and the like.
Melrose could be a good choice for air purification when you need extra support in that area too.
Anyone else totally obsessed with this blend? Thanks Young Living for the chance to earn one of my staples for free this month!
If you are anything like me, maybe you have had a lot of close encounters with Patchouli oil over the years. This is famously a scent used by extreme hippies to cover up their body odor, and they all seem to overdo it by using way too much. It isn't pretty. Full disclosure- I am absolutely a hippie myself. I just enjoy showering and smelling good. It's kind of a thing with me. Ha!
When I got my hands on a bottle of Young Living's Peace and Calming- my gateway oil that started my whole obsession- I was really shocked to learn it contained Patchouli, and that I actually liked it- more accurately, I LOVED it. I also learned it had some great benefits beyond covering up BO- and that it was very likely the strong smell I was used to for all those years was "perfume grade" oil that a)had no benefits and b) was clearly too strong and overpowering.
Patchouli went on my "want" list but I never actually got it- so I was super excited to see it offered FREE is this month's promos! I now have my bottle in my possession and I am forever changed. Young Living's Patchouli is nothing like I was used to. It smells great, and it is much "lighter" than what you might expect.
Young Living's Patchouli comes from Indonesia and this oil has a long history. Patchouli was one of the substances found in King Tut's tomb, along with Frankincense and Spikenard. These were not essential oils as we know them today, as they did not have steam distillation methods at that time.
Turns out Patchouli has many benefits, including:
~Skin support of all types, but especially great for supporting aging skin
~Calming and comforting (I feel this benefit a lot myself)
~Scalp and hair support
~Can help set the mood and support healthy libido
~Help support normal body temperature
~Immune system support
~Support healthy joints
~Endocrine system support
~Assist in keeping you "annoyance free" outdoors
I also read that Patchouli may help relax and clarify thoughts, allowing one to move past jealousies, obsessions and insecurities.
I have been enjoying adding it to my Sandalwood face cream along with a drop of Frankincense. It is great for my "over 40" skin and the scent of those two wonderful oils hangs out for a while, calming and comforting me. I also added it to my daughter's "calming and focus" blend. This is an oil I will never want to be without again!
Patchouli can also be found in the following Young Living products:
Abundance, DiGize, Live With Passion, Magnify Your Purpose, Orange Blossom Face Wash, Peace and Calming, Rose Ointment, Allerzyme and Animal Scents Ointment.

Rose oil is heart opening, comforting and calming yet uplifting at the same time, euphoric. Wonderful for the skin. Helps bring balance and harmony. A little goes a long way. Rose also has the second highest frequency of any essential oils at 320 mhz. This can really help positively affect mood and outlook on life and self.
Rose Oil is the most expensive oil Young Living carries, at $185.50 wholesale and $224.08 retail. WOW, why is it so much, you may wonder. Here are some interesting things to know.
It takes about 60 roses to make one drop of pure Rose Essential Oil
It takes about 10,000 roses to make a 5ml bottle of pure Rose Essential Oil.
Much like Lavender, much of the rose scent on the market is adulterated or synthetic. Real rose is unlike anything else you will ever experience.
Taken from Rosemagazine.com
"The Egyptian rose, which was known for its many petals, was the one Cleopatra used to entice Mark Antony. Athenaeus, a writer of the times, records that Cleopatra covered the floors of her palace in fresh rose petals to a depth of half a meter. The sails of her royal barge were drenched in rose water. In her bedroom surrounding the bed itself, the floor was covered in a thick sultry layer of rose petals. Mark Antony fell to the seduction of the temptress; should we ask Cleopatra or the rose?"
Who will be taking advantage of this amazing deal? If you want a bottle, show this to your significant other or perhaps buy it for yourself this Valentine's day <3
